“Since 1979, Friends of Medicare have played an important role in protecting and strengthening universal public health care in Alberta and across Canada. We are a non-profit, non-partisan coalition of seniors’ organizations, labour organizations, cultural, faith and community groups, and physicians and patients. Our members share a concern for the preservation of the five principles of Medicare: comprehensive coverage, universality, accessibility, portability, and public administration on a non-profit basis.”
