AWARE is a new group in Medicine Hat. AWARE stands for Alberta Wins: ACT RESPOND EDUCATE.

We are a group of concerned citizens, that will provide information and education to support the voting public in responding to political policies that will cause harm, and those, that are undemocratic.

With knowledge that encompasses bigger picture and critical thinking, citizens can act. Let’s engage in those conversations.

This government is:

1. Dismantling Healthcare

2. Destroying Education

3. Blocking Renewables

4. Asserting Control over Municipalities

5. Creating harmful policies for 2SILGBTQ+ people

6. Chasing down your CPP

7. Blocking research

8. Ignoring Impacts of Climate Change

9. Destroying our headwaters with coal mining and allowing clear cut logging.

We are way past the point of silence! Stand Up, Push Back, Write, Organize, Act, Respond, Educate.

Here is our line up of amazing and passionate speakers. We hope you can participate in an informative Day of Action! This, is your democratic right.

This format will reflect a political Petcha Kucha event, with each speaker engaging the crowd for 8-10 minutes.

We are still trying to secure someone to speak to healthcare in Alberta. If you can contribute, please contact us.

Please be aware there maybe some last minute changes to speakers if needed, but we will be updating regularly.

We expect participants to exercise their rights in a peaceful and respectful manner. We will be posting some guidelines to ensure this is a safe event for all. Please bring any non-perishable food you can donate, as we will be making a donation to the Root Cellar.
