Since 1979, Friends of Medicare have played an important role in protecting and strengthening universal public health care in Alberta and across Canada. We are a non-profit, non-partisan coalition of seniors’ organizations, labour organizations, cultural, faith and community groups, and physicians and patients.

Our members share a concern for the preservation of the five principles of Medicare:

• comprehensive coverage

• universality

• accessibility

• portability, and

• public administration on a non-profit basis

Everyone is welcome to attend and discuss items but only members can vote.
