City of Medicine Hat Releases the Heavily Redacted Report of the Investigation into the Mayor.

The report dated February 27 2024 was finally released this evening.

Mayor Linnsie Clark has called a press conference for Wednesday March 27 at 11am

in front of Medicine Hat City Hall.

The report is 36 pages long.

We have no idea what the complaint was all about, only some of the information is released. It is so heavily redacted that it is a stretch to call it information. The image below is page 22.

No suggested sanctions are included in the report.

Many of the current Medicine Hat City Council members campaigned on transparency including Complainant Councillor Shila Sharps. Many members of the public are doubting their veracity.

About 80 people showed up at Council Chambers last night to support Mayor Clark, she got a standing ovation when she walked in. Many voiced their anger at the sanctions imposed on the mayor, some calling them draconian.

I asked Deputy Mayor Allison Knodel after the meeting why the sanctions had no end date and what the Mayor needed to do to be able to come back. I did not receive a coherent answer.
