NWCH Suspected Drug Lab Accused Makes 1st Court Appearance

One of two accused in a raid on a 12th Street NW home last week made her first court appearance on Tuesday while the other has been released on conditions.

Both local police and Mounties were involved in the bust which is alleged to have used the home to alter fentanyl while multiple other illicit substances and cash were also seized.

Quantities of meth, coke, magic mushrooms and GHB along with more than $5,000 in cash were seized.

Denai Marie Lanz, 43, made her first court appearance on Tuesday at Medicine Hat Court of Justice facing multiple drug charges including possession of a product for use in production or trafficking of a substance.

Lanz is also facing multiple breach charges as well as possession of property over $5,000 obtained by crime.

Her next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 21.

Aaron Greenwood, 36, was also arrested in connection with the bust and subsequently released.

His next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 28.
