Suspected Drug House Near School Raided By Police

Police in hazmat suits descended on a home half a block away from Crescent Heights High School Thursday afternoon as part of a warrant execution of an apparent clandestine drug lab.

The raid was believed to have begun sometime mid-day with multiple police and emergency vehicles on scene at 75 12th St. NW.

In a release, city police state the home was part of an investigation by the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT). Also involved where members of the Clandestine Laboratory Enforcement Response Team (CLEAR).

Two individuals were taken into custody, according to city police.

A neighbour told the Owl they believe the home was occupied by the current residents about three months ago. Additionally, a large fifth wheel travel trailer with skulls spraypainted on it that had been crudely and partially covered up with primer would come and go from the home’s front driveway.

The neighbour also they’d smell “strange” odours in the later evening hours.

A large freezer unit was also seen being seized by police and removed from the property.
