Healing Lodge and a Hockey Stick

A Feel Good Story

I stopped by the Healing Lodge in front of City Hall yesterday to see how they were doing.

I was there when a woman came there with her son, looking for his hockey stick that had fallen out of a truck. She approached confidently with a smile, with no sign of apprehension.

She asked Geraldine about the hockey stick and Geraldine said, yes it is here - one of the guys had found it in the middle of the street, picked it up bought it back to the Healing Lodge where it was used to prop up tarps.

DId Geraldine say

Finders Keepers? 

Nope

Did she say

Too Bad, So Sad?

Nope

Geraldine went inside and retrieved the stick from where it was and returned it to the boy; he had a big grin on his face. Geraldine was very happy that these two approached her with kindness and respect as far too many will approach with accusations.
