Update in Missing Person Case: Medicine Hat Police Confirm Unrelated Finding in Ontario

The Medicine Hat Police Service (MHPS) has provided an update in the long-standing missing person case of Bradley Kiefer, confirming that a recent potential lead has been ruled out.

Bradley Kiefer, 62, was reported missing in October 2022 after he was last seen or heard from on October 16 of that year. Despite public appeals, his whereabouts have remained unknown.

Recently, online discussions and community speculation suggested a possible connection between Kiefer and an unidentified man who was tragically struck and killed by a vehicle on Highway 401 in Kingston, Ontario, on January 16, 2025. The Ontario Provincial Police had released a description of the man, seeking the public's help to identify him.

An appeal from Ontario Provincial Police seeking to identify a man killed in a January 2025 collision.

The Medicine Hat Police Service confirmed to the public that they were aware of the speculation and actively investigated the potential link.

"We have looked into this lead regarding the individual in Ontario," said an MHPS representative. "We can confirm that, after our investigation, it has been determined that this is not our missing person, Bradley Kiefer."

This update means the search for Kiefer must continue elsewhere. The MHPS is once again asking anyone with any information on Bradley Kiefer's location or circumstances since his disappearance to come forward.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Medicine Hat Police Service at (403) 529-8481
