Hatters Calling on Smith To Resign

Hatters start to gather outside Premier Danielle Smith’s Medicine Hat constituency office shortly before the beginning of the demonstration’s 1pm start on Saturday.

Hatters upset with allegations of ethical lapses within the provincial government regarding healthcare in Alberta are protesting outside of Medicine Hat MLA Premier Danielle Smith’s constituency office.

The mid-day Saturday demonstration is featuring protesters festooning the glass-paned front of the office with pink sticky notes.

The messages on the notes represent attempts to issue Smith her “pink slip” as Medicine Hat MLA and premier.

The actions taking place are consistent with what a local TV station has called vandalism when signs protesting Smith’s UCP government earlier this month. Yet, city police parked across the protest are doing nothing to stop protesters actions.
