Alberta Next Panel Website Biased, Propaganda Like
The Alberta Next Panel website says
This isn’t just about talk, it’s about action.
The ideas and concerns shared by Albertans in these sessions will directly inform real decisions and questions of importance that the public will vote on in 2026
There are surveys you can take but they are incredibly biased. You must watch a video before you can take the survey, some of the information is misleading or just plain wrong.
One survey question seemed to imply that over a million people were coming into our country every year …
…yet a graphic they used shows otherwise.
There is no way to pause, rewind or fast forward any of the videos, if you leave the page you must watch the video all over again.
188 seconds (3 min 8 sec) Immigration
189 seconds (3 min 9 sec) Constitutional Changes
197 seconds (3 min 17 sec) Alberta Federal Transfers and Equalization
230 seconds (3min, 50 sec) Provincial Police Force
238 seconds (3min 58 sec) Tax Collection
297 seconds (4 min 57 sec) Re Alberta Pension Plan
Total of 22 minutes 19 seconds
These surveys are not anonymous, they require you to
affirm your Alberta residency,
enter your name and
enter the first three characters of your postal code
You can use a fake name and a different postal code. As for the questions there is no way to go back and change an answer. Only one person per household can take the survey, they limit participation using your IP address; clearing your history and your cache does nothing.
A Town Hall is typically held to get feedback from the public
This format seems to limit feedback. Right from the start, the public is exposed to a 6-½ minute video starring Danielle Smith mostly talking about how Ottawa is not treating Alberta fairly. This video appears to be highly biased, right down to the dirty screen used to showcase the federal government and the policies in blatantly negative way; the shots look like dirty oil was spilled on the screen compared to the crystal clear images of Alberta
At the event in Edmonton, moderator Bruce McAllister (executive director of the premier’s office) actually cut the mike for some commenters and had others removed from the room. At the end of each section the moderator held an informal vote of the people in the room; the people joining online were not given an opportunity to add their voices.
