City Holds 2nd Special Council Meeting In Three Days
Thursday saw a bit of a chaotic start to the second special council meeting held in three days, the fourth since the end of July, as councillors and staff piled into the Ted Grimm Boardroom.
Coun. Alison Van Dyke took the chair position to start the meeting after some initial confusion as to whether Mayor Linnsie Clark was in attendance online while Coun. Andy McGrogan appeared remotely from his car on the way to the meeting. Councillors Allison Knodel, Cassi Hider, Shila Sharps, Robert Dumanowski appeared in person while Ramona Robins attended remotely.
The single topic on the agenda was unspecified “policy planning matters,” which was moved into a closed session.
The 40-minute meeting ended with no public vote on the substantive matter discussed.
Council met for a special council meeting on Monday which saw a “personnel matter” discussed during a closed session.
That was the topic for discussion during the July 28 special council meeting in which city manager Ann Mitchell was suspended and an investigation launched. That meeting was preceded by a July 25 special council meeting for a “personnel matter” and followed the release of a municipal inspection report.
That report concluded the city was being run in an “irregular, improper and improvident manner.”
