WestJet is giving notice Medicine Hat’s only commercial passenger air service will be departing the city this summer without booking a return trip.
The Calgary-based air carrier is giving flyers in the Hat four months’ notice with the last departure booked for June 23.
WestJet became the second regional carrier at the city’s airport in 2019, joining Air Canada’s regional service to Calgary.
Air Canada’s daily service out of the city was cancelled at the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic in March 2020.
