Local Ski Talent Heading to Her 2nd Olympics

Medicine Hat-raised Amy Fraser is heading into her second Olympics as the Winter Games kick off Friday in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy.
The 30-year-old athlete first learned to ski at Hidden Valley and was a gymnast at the local SALTA club on her way to making her Olympic debut at the 2022 Beijing Games finishing 8th in freeski halfpipe.

The Crescent Heights High School grad went on to earn a degree at the University of Calgary and picked up the freeski halfpipe skills at that city’s local hill, Canadian Olympic Park.
The local product has also been racing on the FIS World Cup circuit, picking up two top 10 placings in China and on her home hill in Calgary heading into the Winter Games.
She’s currently ranked 11th on the circuit’s points tally in the halfpipe discipline.
The Olympic women’s final in freeski halfpipe will be held on Saturday Feb.21 at 3:30 am Mountain Standard Time.
