CBSA seizes over 1,000 kg of narcotics at Coutts border crossing in Alberta
Canada Border Services Agency officers at the Coutts port of entry in southern Alberta seized a total of 1,010 kilograms of illegal drugs from three commercial trucks in November and December 2025.
On Nov. 26, officers found 461 kg of cocaine and 43 kg of suspected heroin hidden in a truck carrying electrolyte beverages destined for Calgary. One gram of opium was also found in the cab. The driver was arrested.
On Dec. 2, a separate commercial truck hauling an empty trailer was found with 300 kg of cocaine and 400 grams of suspected opium poppies. The driver was arrested.
On Dec. 18, a truck carrying vacuum parts for Calgary was found with 206 kg of methamphetamine. The driver was arrested.
All three drivers and the seized narcotics were turned over to the RCMP Federal Policing Northwest Region.
