Rain Will Make Side Roads Dangerous

Temperatures around zero this week and now rain are going to make for sloppy, messy, and dangerous roads.

While the main roads are mostly clear, the snow covered side roads will become treacherous especially when the temperature dips below freezing again. Environment Canada is forecasting above zero daytime temperatures while going below freezing at night all this week; a little bit of snow is also int he forecast. This is going to make for a nasty freeze /thaw cycle. Please watch for pedestrians, critters and other vehicles.

Having a 4X4 or All wheel drive is great to get you moving but it does nothing to help you stop. The Owl encourages everyone to slow down and take your time. Leave extra room between vehicles. It might be good idea to park your vehicle off the street if possible.

Remember, the posted speed limits are for perfect road and weather conditions. You may actually be found in violation while doing the posted speed limit if road conditions are bad.
