Another Westjet Schedule Change

The Medicine Hat Owl has learned that Westjet has quietly changed the flight schedule from Medicine Hat (YXH) to Calgary (YYC).

Last October the City announced with great fanfare about the new schedule which departed for Calgary from YXH at 07:30, returning at 19:30hrs (7:30pm). That new schedule has apparently lasted less than 5 months.

When Westjet switched from 2 flights/day to one/day, they provided a larger plane. According to a regular passenger, many of the flights leaving/arriving at YXH Medicine Hat were half empty, prompting the flight attendants to ask people to volunteer to move to the rear of the plane. (This happened to me on the last flight I arrived on in March.)

The new Westjet schedule shows that the flight arrives at YXH at 15:04 (3:04pm) and departs for Calgary at 15:35 (3:35pm)

The Owl has asked the City of Medicine Hat when the changes took place and when the residents were notified. The City of Medicine Hat has not responded with an answer by press time.
