Drug, Weapons Charges Against Amero Dropped, Alledged Biker Released

More than a dozen weapons and drug related criminal allegations against a city man were withdrawn Tuesday a Medicine Hat Court of Justice.

Jeremiah Amero, 34, was facing numerous allegations including those stemming from a July 7 incident on the Southeast Hill.

Police at the time reported a city officer stopped the car Amero was in after the man was recognized and subsequently arrested.

A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed contraband.

Amero entered guilty pleas to two offences involving breaches and was sentenced to 30-days, time served.

His defence lawyer, Lyndon Heidinger, declined to comment to the Medicine Hat Owl.

 

Bail Granted For Alleged Outlaw Biker

A Bellevue, Alberta man arrested last week on weapons allegations involving a semi-automatic submachine gun and simple possession of meth was granted bail on Monday.

Police allege Clinton Mayer, 58, is an affiliate of the outlaw motorcycle gang The Rock Machine who was initially stopped due to a report of a suspicious vehicle operating in the Flats at 9:30 am the morning of Sept. 16.

Allegations against Mayer include that meth was found along with a .22 caliber GSG MP40 with a suppressor, conductive energy weapon and two cans of bear spray were recovered subsequent to the man’s arrest.

Mayer was released on $1,000 cash bail along with standard release conditions including not to possess weapons.
