Youth Hockey Club Manager Charged with Theft, Fraud
A 46-year-old Medicine Hat woman is facing allegations of theft and fraud over $5,000 involving a youth hockey program, local police announced Tuesday.
An investigation was launched at the beginning of this year after police were notified of concerns involving the manager of the Southeast Selects team, a Premier Hockey League club which went defunct prior to the 2024-2025 season.
Police allege the theft and fraud allegations are connected to incidents which occurred between April 2024 and March 2025.
In addition to theft and fraud over $5,000, Nola Besplug is facing allegations of possession of proceeds of crime.
Her next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 7.
