Sentencing was Dec 31, 2025, So he hasn’t been seen all year.
More than 25 police officers from multiple agencies carried out a major operation Tuesday at a Redcliff industrial property linked to Chad Lentz, a Medicine Hat man currently wanted on numerous outstanding warrants. The police SWAT vehicle, an ‘MRAP’ (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected) left huge muddy tire marks in front of the garage, which upon entry, smelled of spicy chemicals. The tenants and employees that showed up after the raid complained about the smell and sensation of the lingering chemical irritant.
Officers from the Medicine Hat Police Service, Calgary Police Service and possibly the RCMP attended the property at 205 3rd Street NE, where Lentz rents an autobody shop. Witnesses reported the use of at least two armoured vehicles, one of which appeared to tear a 12-foot garage door off its tracks, leaving significant damage and muddy tire ruts on the site.
The adjoining tenant, who rents a separate storage unit in the same divided warehouse under a different address, told Owl News police requested access to her unit despite there being no internal connection between the two spaces. She said she complied with the request but was not given a clear explanation as to why her unit was searched.
Lentz is already facing multiple weapons, obstruction and drug-related charges stemming from a February 2024 investigation. He skipped sentencing at in December of 2025 and has been on the run since.
Medicine Hat Police Services has not responded to Owl News about anything in months, probably over a year, and the Media Contact person appears to have taken on a new title in administration. Does MHPS even have a communications person anymore? Or is every desk job now involved in the multi-million dollar hide-and-go-seek challenge so they can knock Richard off the 2026 leaderboard?
Of course, the cops want you to help them find this man, and if you do, your reward will likely be having your possibly-unredacted name show up in a future police file that could be read in open court. Bonus; these files are important reading materials in jail.
