Still No Plea For City Cop Facing Witness Tampering Allegations

A city police officer facing allegations involving witness tampering has yet to enter a plea to criminal allegations eight months following being charged and more than three years following the offence dates.

Const. Noel Darr, 56, was charged with attempting to obstruct justice through attempting to dissuade witnesses from giving evidence through threats, bribes or other corrupt means.

The court heard Thursday Crown disclosure to defence remains outstanding.

The offence dates are listed in court documents as occurring between February 2022 and November 2023, according to court documents filed by Edmonton police who were tasked with investigating Darr.

Despite that, both Medicine Hat and Edmonton police released public statements countering court documents regarding offence dates.

Both police agencies stated in their respective July 2025 media releases the offences occurred during a professional standards investigation launched in February 2023.

Darr’s next court appearance is scheduled for April 19.
